VIRTUAL REALITY IN THE ASSISTED REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUE (ART)

The project, coordinated by Prof. Paola Piomboni, aims to develop a software capable of creating realistic virtual environments, which allow the reproduction of the main procedures adopted in the medically assisted procreation (PMA) laboratory as an alternative training tool which, overcoming ethical and regulatory difficulties, constitute a unique opportunity for the training of future embryologists, in a safe and controlled learning environment. By making use of computer procedures used to trace body movements and the most innovative three-dimensional graphic design technologies, the software will make it possible to make the movements of people in a virtual context plausible. The proposed work plan includes experimental, management and training activities aimed at: i) development of techniques and implementation of corresponding software modules aimed at creating realistic and plausible virtual environments; ii) professional growth aimed at creating a multi-skilled and usable profile in clinical and industrial translational research.
